Glen Helen Nature Preserve
The Glen Helen nature preserve in Yellow Springs, Ohio is currently closed.
Antioch College, the owner of Glen Helen, has indicated that due to current circumstances it does not plan to re-open the Glen or its educational programming (Yellow Springs News, May 21, 2020). More from Antioch about the current state of Glen Helen can be found here: https://antiochcollege.edu/2020/05/our-treasured-glen/.
The Glen Helen Association (GHA) is working with Antioch College to try to come to acceptable terms to buy Glen Helen. This will require significant upfront expenditures, followed by additional monies for the balance of a purchase price, re-starting operations and programming such as the Outdoor Educational Center during a health emergency and economic downturn, and addressing needs and concerns created by deferred maintenance on buildings and grounds. A re-start of programming may be delayed and would likely be phased in over time as funding, resources, and health conditions permit.

Glen Helen is a 1000 acre nature preserve with 25 miles of trails offering a host of educational public programs and events. We provide residential environmental education through summer Ecocamps and Outdoor School during the school year. We rehabilitate injured birds of prey, run a nature shop and visitor center, host gatherings and retreats in our lovely facilities, and work on the environmental issues of the day.
